Going into Seattle

I'm going into Seattle today to PR consult and use space at GC Direct, a marketing firm that did some work for me when I was director of corporate communications at WatchGuard. I was put in charge of managing someone who knew direct marketing and was doing a good job, so I mostly managed hands-off. GC Direct (Mike and Cynthia) are great fun to work with, and know their stuff; and have since been terribly generous with their time and extra office space.
During the interim from the end of my stint at WatchGuard (November '06) and now, I've had two other jobs which lasted for a combined 13 months. The person I managed (Karen), herself very capable, has had two jobs, as well, and was recently liberated from her last joining the ranks of the under-employed. GC Direct is still GC Direct. It makes me think this self-employed thing is the way to go.
Cynthia was also the past president of the Seattle Direct Marketing Association and talked me into becoming the PR Chair of said. More on that later.
